Well, here it is. The ugly side of blogging….or shall I say the ugly side that I don’t blog. π Often times as bloggers we share beautiful photographs of our projects and spaces, as a showcase of the hard work we’ve put in. Rarely do we share the mess that it takes to get there…or even our everyday living. (Who really would want to see much of this anyway? lol) This week I haven’t been blogging much, mostly due to the 3 day weekend holiday of Easter. I loved having family time, but come Monday morning things around my home were a disaster! I meant to post these earlier in the week…but frankly I am still digging myself out of the mess. Life with an infant equals sporadic cleaning and lots of cuddles. π I hated to leave you guys hanging and even though I have a ton of things to share, that can wait. I wish my house was always clean with a pretty vignette perfectly set out with no random baby hair clips or diapers here and there…but that’s just not how it is! Here’s some real life and down right UGLY photos of this bloggers life this week. π errr Enjoy?
Dishes to wash, and dishes that are clean to put away along with cluttered counter tops. Check!
Random clutter from me cleaning out my diaper bag and husbands work stuff. Check!
Disheveled pillows, unopened mail, jackets, and burp cloths. Check!
Laptop, dvds, diapers, and Easter basket contents strewn about. Check! As you can tell, we enjoyed our weekend family time a little too much. As a side note, here was our best attempt at an Easter photo before church. π
Don’t worry I got things cleaned up, and then I decided it was the perfect time to finish some painting projects and ceiling edges. So yeah, from regular mess to complete painting mess. Just keepin’ it real people! When I do projects (or just get busy) our house is far from show-worthy, but I wouldn’t trade our messy moments and memories for anything. Stay tuned for some “pretty” blog project pictures soon. I promise!

That’s an adorable Easter photo! And I’m happy to say that I have a little pile of clutter/store returns myself, but it was put in a bin just today. Out of sight, out of mind! π

I hear ya! I am notorious for putting it in a bin to put away…and then forgetting about it!

I can so relate and I don’t even have time to blog! I actually had a breakdown yesterday because I can’t do it all, no matter how much I want to. Thanks for keeping it real!
Marie says
Yep, I think we are definitely not alone Kristy! Happens more often than we think I bet!

Thanks for sharing. Believe me we all have endured clutter and messes, while raising children. My children are married now, but I still clean up messes, from the grandchildren. Just enjoy the children, they grow up too fast. Love the picture of the children, and that sweet little bracelet the baby is wearing.
Marie says
Thank you, and it is true! Children do grow too fast, I am trying to enjoy every moment.

This was so awesome and refreshing to see! Thank you so much for sharing. After constantly seeing perfect pictures it makes me feel a bit comfortable about our sometimes really messy house haha.
Marie says
For sure Steph, it feels a little awkward ‘baring’ it all…but sometimes being real and telling it like it is is refreshing!

I loved this blog! A lot of people are not aware of everything that goes into putting a blog together and this just puts it out there for all of us. I know at times there are images in my head of people going into their perfectly set up “crafting room,” closing the door and off they go into the “Land of Crafting”! Right!!! LOL! So people can do those things and other people can’t or do not have the resources to do that – this is reality and reality in the world of blogging and crafting/cooking, etc., and to me it just looks like life.
Thanks for sharing your life (family/crafting) with us!! π
Marie says
So true Cindy! I know I get caught up in thinking everyone else has the perfecting crafting space, perfectly behaved kids, tons of time…but I think we all have our strengths and challenges. And mine this past week especially is now on display! LOL π
