Today I am sharing a fun and simple ornament idea. We decorate a family tree all together and then the kids get to decorate a mini tree all their own for their bedrooms. My son chose a western/rustic theme to match his bedroom so I decided to make these easy DIY Jute Ornaments to add to his decor. These are super simple and only take a few minutes to put together.
Here are the supplies you’ll need:
- jute
- hot glue
- scissors
- paper mache ornament form (or other ornament form)
Using hot glue, start at one end and start attaching the jute around the ornament. Place the jute in lines close together so that you won’t see the ornament for through the jute.
Try and keep it seamless as you go.
When you get to the end, finish off and you’ll have a super easy jute ornament. You could add ribbons or embellishments to take them up a notch.
I’d love for you to check out some of my latest projects.

Great idea! Love natural jute and all its uses. I”m still swooning over that stained wood table runner. I’m hoping to make these as gifts this Christmas.

Great idea! love the way the jute looks against the tree. I might leave as is or add maybe a skinny ribbon tied in a bow – something simple to match the jute

I was thinking for next year I would add a little ribbon at the top. Great idea!
