If you’re like me you love sugar cookies but sometimes hate the hassle that goes into making them. Well, today I’ve got an easy recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
- 1/2 Cup shortening
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/4 Cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture. Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut out shapes. Place on greased baking sheet and bake 10-12 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. When cool you can frost or ice your cookies! I used the wilton royal icing recipe for these cookies. You can find the recipe here.
Super delicious and super simple. Now that’s my idea of a sugar cookie!

These are so cute and look so yummy! I make sugar cookies every year, so I know the work that goes into them. Maybe I’ll give this recipe a try this year!

Very very cute! I love the sprinkles!
They add such a fun addition, especially for kids!
They look so soft! Sugar cookies are one of my least favorites to make. I’m not very patient, so the decorating part usually doesn’t happen. đ These are cute, though!
Found you on the Party Bunch. Thanks for sharing! đ
I know right? Thats why these don’t happen too overly often. đ
