Creative Gift Wrapping

Now that holiday shopping is in full swing, I’ve been eager to wrap all these fun gifts to get them under the tree. This year I decided to take a little extra time to make each gift look a little more special and fit with our overall home decor holiday theme. Who says gift boxes can’t be beautiful and functional at the same time?
I scored some of these plain brown kraft boxes on sale at the craft store and knew they would be lovely to cover and wrap gifts. Instead of using traditional wrapping paper I decided to take things up a notch by using Duck® Brand Duck Glitter® tape in white, glitter white, and silver glitter. Did you know they have glitter Duck Tape®? The perfect way to get the look of glitter without the flakey mess…I’m in love! In under an hour, I had custom gift boxes ready for under the tree. Each box is a little different. Some of them received stripes, a few boxes got covered entirely, and one box even got some polka dots. One of my favorite things about using Duck Tape® to wrap these gift boxes was that these boxes are easily reusable. I taped the boxes and lids separately so they would fit together seamlessly and can be easily opened and shut without showing signs of tearing unlike traditional wrapping paper and ribbon.  Duck Tape® is such a fun and versatile medium to use and these neutral glitter tones worked perfectly for the style I was going for. Such a fun way to add a touch of glamour to your holiday. I also wanted to create some fun tags, bows, and embellishments to go on the boxes. To create these I placed the Duck Tape® over top of white paper to cover up the adhesive back and I was then able to cut out flower petals and ribbons from the fun glitter tape. I decided to finish them off with some jingle bells and glittery twine. They make such a beautiful addition and really finish off the complete look of the packaging.
